Holding the business registration certificate is only the first step. For the company to sell, sign contracts and keep tidy books, a few groups of tasks need review. The list below is general reference; the exact deadlines and procedures are set by the law in force, so check them before you act.
Groups of tasks to review
- A bank account for the business. Use an account of its own, separate from the personal accounts of the owner and the legal representative.
- Initial tax matters. Find out the filing and payment obligations the business has from the day it is set up.
- E-invoices and digital signature. Prepare the tools to issue invoices and to file electronically with state authorities.
- Books and accounting regime. Decide which accounting regime applies, who is responsible, and how vouchers are kept from the very first month.
- Capital contribution. Check contributions against the commitments in the registration dossier and keep the supporting documents.
- Sub-licences, if any. If the business line has conditions, check the conditions and licences needed before trading.
- Employment contracts and insurance. If you hire staff, learn about the related procedures.
One habit to build from the start
Record every receipt and payment with a document, even small ones. Clear books from the first month save a great deal of time when filing is due.
